An Inside
Look at ICDC Programs
Housing Resource Center
The Housing Resource Center (HRC) located within the Spring Plaza
Complex was established by ICDC to provide homebuyer education,
build quality homes and renovate existing homes. The HRC is the
first step to qualifying residents for homeownership. The HRC
is a place where residents receive credit counseling homebuyer
education and help with neighborhood issues.
Business Assistance Center
The Business Assistance Center (BAC) of ICDC has served as a resource
center that supports the successful growth of start-up and existing
small businesses since 1994. The BAC provides technical assistance
for incubator tenants housed at the Spring Plaza Complex.
The BAC also provides technical and resource services to neighborhood
based businesses and individuals desiring to start a business.
Technical assistance provided by the BAC includes business plan
development and review, marketing, skills development, educational
seminars and loan packaging and referral. The BAC also provides
spacious offices for ten business incubator tenants, telephone
and high-speed internet service, administrative supports, a computer
lab on-site security and 3-conference/meeting rooms.
Youth Entrepreneurship
The ICDC Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP) is an extension
of the BAC. The goal of the YEP program is to link low income
youth to career opportunities that will change the dynamics of
the South Dallas business environment. Youth are taught how to
start and run a small business. Students experience training through
classroom instruction and hands-on operations.
