South Dallas Fair Park ICDC’s main building at Spring Avenue is located in the Mill City neighborhood. The Mill City neighborhood has a tree canopy of less than 10% and is in desperate need of the cooling and calming effect of solar power.
The opportunity to install solar power is the result of an $129,000 grant from Green Mountain Energy Sun Club which allows ICDC to offset approximately 78% of our annual energy consumption. That’s an offset of emissions equal to planting 27,000 trees, replacing 1.15 million pounds of coal, or removing 9 cars off the road!
