The Youth Entrepreneur Program is an after school program offered by ICDC. The educational program was designed to teach financial education and entrepreneurship to local elementary students in South Dallas.
We use innovative techniques and materials to explain basic economic concepts about money and business. Young participants learn about creating a business idea, writing a business plan, starting and managing a business, how to select and purchase products for resale, marketing and managing inventory. Participants incorporate practical skills by running their own school store, managing staff and inventory.
The curriculum includes marketing, financial literacy, activities, reviews, and tests, all of which comply with the National Endowment for Financial Education standards and Texas Education Agency social studies financial education standards.
ICDC is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization; your donations are tax-deductible.
